How to add other than [Cryout widgets] to presentation page

Hi, I want to customize my presentation page more than the theme allows. My problem is I want to add a text widget and a video one, that will be displayed on the same row. The theme does not show anything without an image (I uses a specific post for the text), and the video is showing on the whole width. I created a child theme and can play with the css, but need some guidance there. Thank you
