Child Theme / Custom Post type How to change archive layout?

    Hi,
    I use Tempera and have a Child Theme. And I have a Custom Post Type and would like to create a custom layout for this post archive. Neather the file “archive-posttypeslug.php” works nor the “content-posttypeslug.php”. WP Theme always uses the normal archive layout?
    1. What is the php, which i have to change?
    2. Can I use this new archive in the Child Theme or do i have to copy it in the original theme?
