Hello! First, just want to say THANK YOU for creating this theme – it’s been such a lifesaver! I’m a total newbie when it comes to CSS, PHP and the like and am having problems with viewing the mobile site of my blog on my iPhone. I have enabled ‘Responsiveness’ under the ‘Layout Settings’ tab in Tempera Settings but it still doesn’t work. How can I fix this?
Thanks again!
OliviaDecember 23rd, 2013 at 14:58 #15003KayCryout Creations mastermindI’ve checked your site and it’s fully responsive. Did you change something in the meanwhile?

I’m jumping on this article because it seems the most sensible to group website responsive under a single post.
My problem is that when I use Windows snap feature to the edge of the screen (so you can get two equal size windows on either side), my text and containers are not responding to the new size properly, and some the text is missing. I find this annoying and I imagine my readers will too. Any advice would be very appreciated. I love your parabola theme by the way, keep up the good work! Here is a screenshot on what I am experiencing:

Thanks for your timely response! I’ve been checking back periodically on my iPhone – and just now, my tablet – and I get the same screen each time I try to load the website on anything other than my laptop. This is what my screen looks like: http://imgur.com/acrViVE
Hopefully you can help with this! Thanks again, and happy holidays!
OliviaJanuary 2nd, 2014 at 17:08 #15292KayCryout Creations mastermindHi!
@ Olivia, the message you are seeing is from a mobile plugin you have installed. Tempera is responsive on its own so please disable all such plugins.
@ Josh If your site is 1200px for example and you resize your browser window to 1100px of course it won’t fit any more. And the text doesn’t disappear you can scroll left and right to see it . Also, your visitors will have normal browser windows and they will see the whole site.
As another test, try loading a few other sites in the half browser window and see what happens.

Responsive sites should respond to all sizes regardless of what size it is. For example, I am currently developing this site from scratch http://noakersautobody.com.s97340.gridserver.com/. You will see that it responds completely. That is what is supposed to happen here. Josh is right, this template’s responsiveness is not complete.
January 13th, 2014 at 21:36 #15917OliviaHi Kay,
Thanks for your help. Found out that it wasn’t the Tempera layout but the fact that my host automatically redirects visitors using mobile devices to a nonexistent mobile site. I made it so the redirect wouldn’t happen again, and now it looks great! Thanks again!
Best,
OliviaFebruary 11th, 2014 at 19:14 #21925natashaHello Dear Team! Thank you very much for this amazing theme! Just perfect!
I am a total newbie to WP and obviously doing something wrong – all recent updates appear in the PC version, but the responsive part on my Ipad does not display recent changes.
could you tell me what is wrong with my updates?
Thank you a lot!
NatashaFebruary 12th, 2014 at 19:34 #22025Steve@Luis, I checked out your site, and that is exactly what I need my site to do. I have visitors to my site that use a lower resolution and they complain about scrolling side to side to see the whole site.
@Kay, I love this theme and find it really easy to use. Please tell me of a way to make the site respond to all screen resolutions. Thank you for creating an awesome theme, I hope to be able to use it more effectively with proper responsiveness.February 14th, 2014 at 11:56 #22189PeterHi there,
i am just starting with wordpress and i am looking for a responsive theme. i found yours and i like it a lot. there is just one issue with the responsivness of it.
it works fine on my phone, but i dont have a tablet to try it. anyway i did manually resize it on my pc.
if i open the browser as a full window it looks great, if i start to shrink the window it just doesnt shrink the images in the header slider of your theme until to a certain point, after that it works fine again and just minimizes everything, but from full screen (1920px) to about have of the screen size it just shrinks the website but the image of the header slider stays at the original size and it will display me a scrollbar.
this also happens, when i view a post itself. here it shows a horizontal scrollbar until i shrink it down as much that the widget bar (no matter if right or left) gets moved to the bottom, because of not enough space…
could you have a look into this. Yours is so far the best responsive layout i found. its only this little glithc
February 18th, 2014 at 17:12 #23879PeterBUMP
any ideas yet? is the develpment dead? because i would love to buy the theme, its really amazing…There is only the issue with the responsive layout as mentioned above…
February 19th, 2014 at 11:06 #23897NickCI also have a responsive issue, when browsing with Firefox
Is this a Firefox issue?
February 19th, 2014 at 22:52 #23939PeterNo, its on chrome as well with this template…
i really love that template and would like to buy it, but i want to be sure this is fixed, that is most important for me…March 6th, 2014 at 11:18 #24229peterWell we all have to go look for another template, this site is dead. no support here or even no contact back from mail.
i was about to donate and buy it, but lucky i checked before.its an abandoned site here…
sad 🙁
March 6th, 2014 at 18:25 #24235PeterOh they just released an update today 🙂 So they still might be alive, even that nobody seems to take care of the forum 🙂
March 12th, 2014 at 16:55 #24343KayCryout Creations mastermindHello once again guys,
We’re alive and (mostly) well, thank you very much.
Since the latest 0.9.9 update Tempera is fully responsive and should cause no more issues in this regard. Pleasea update to the latest version and let us know what you think.
Thank you all for the feedback!

Before making any modifications to your theme we strongly recommend using Child Themes.March 15th, 2014 at 11:36 #24397Natalee CooperHi my responsiveness is also not working. I have one widget not showing on some screens and content not showing on my phone. It seems to have cut my right side off. What settings should I have for content and side bar with single sidebars on left and right.
March 15th, 2014 at 11:46 #24398Natalee CooperView is fine on my computer using Firefox browser but on my laptop it cuts out right side of my header and widget. It is full screen width can I bring in the template width?
March 16th, 2014 at 01:48 #24408Kathleen GilliganHi, Folks. I have a similar problem with the Parabola theme. It suddenly just went unresponsive. I posted my topic in the Parabola forum over a week ago, but with no response, so I will try here.
The responsiveness feature has always worked fine as tested in my Kindle’s Silk browser and a colleague’s Android phone. Responsiveness survived my recent update to WordPress 3.8.1, as well.
I had not made any significant changes to the site since it was responsive, except for disabling some little used plugins, and reassembling a few more posts.
I tested it here: (Peter, if you don’t have a mobile device for testing, try this) http://www.mobilephoneemulator.com/ in some emulated browsers. It was not responsive in any of these simulations.
WHAT I HAVE DONE TO TROUBLESHOOT:
I ran through Zed’s troubleshooter as a guide http://www.cryoutcreations.eu/forums/t/minimal-step-by-step-tutorial-for-debugging-bugsissuesincompatibilities
And took the following steps:
Made sure responsiveness is enabled (it is)
Updated to the latest version of Parabola v1.3.3
Updated all plugins
Disabled all plugins (no change)
Reenabled plugins
Switched to 2014 theme (still unresponsive)&
Tested again at : http://www.mobilephoneemulator.com/
Switched back to Parabola
I don’t think I have any caching plugins to deal with.
I tried a debugging plugin which errors indicated that I need to update php from 5.2-5.3, and that one of my plugins has an undefined variable for the install date. But these errors were likely present when responsiveness was working.None of this made any difference, except that disabling the plugins and switching themes broke the website. The majority of my theme customizations are focused on replacing the topmenus with side menus, and adding some sliders for photos in order to replicate the look of the original Joomla website http://www.seahec.org (I converted from Joomla to WP)
So, having exhausted those steps, what might be the next steps? I would appreciate any guidance people could offer.
Olivia, your comment sounds intriguing:
“my host automatically redirects visitors using mobile devices to a nonexistent mobile site. I made it so the redirect wouldn’t happen again, and now it looks great!”How did you find that out and accomplish fixing the redirect? If I knew what to do, I would look into your suggestion.
Thank you.
May 22nd, 2014 at 19:55 #25514design&productionHi @Kay, just like @luis we “love this theme and find it really easy to use. Please tell me of a way to make the site respond to all screen resolutions”…. We updated to the latest version 1.0 or so and still it does not seem to be fully responsive i.e. responding to all screen sizes. Is there anything we can do our end to rectify this or do you have any other suggestions?
Kindest Regards
June 12th, 2014 at 10:16 #25732ZedCryout Creations mastermindPlease do not confuse responsive with fluid.
Tempera (since 1.0) is responsive, as in it adjust automatically to 100% width when viewed on a screen/windows smaller than the width it is configured at.
However it does not enlarge beyond configured size when viewed on larger resolutions (this is “fluid” design). If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

The site looks great on my pc, but in my “i” devices, instead of the words sliding across the image, they just sit under the image. same thing for the “read more” button, which I have no removed because it looks awful and clumpy sitting under the image instead of in it.
Why doesn’t it respond the same as it does on my desktop?Second question. I would like the images in those cryout column to be clickable/linkable as well as the text. Is there a way to do this?
December 4th, 2014 at 21:50 #28504DebbieI’m using the Tempera theme (which I love and use a lot) and everything works fine for this site except on iPhones the header area takes up all the room on the screen so when someone goes to the site all they see is blank turquoise space, everything is there, but they have to scroll down to see it. I found that not allowing zoom has fixed other issues with this theme on iPhone, but I’ve already disabled zoom for this one and it doesn’t seem to fix the issue. What else can I do?
Thanks!
December 5th, 2014 at 20:07 #28525ZedCryout Creations mastermindDebbie, the theme is designed to be used with a header. As you chose not to use anything in the header area (except the donation button), the header remains empty when viewer on mobile devices.
You can hide it completely with some CSS:
@media (max-width: 800px) { body #branding, body #bg_image { min-height: 0; } }
If the header area still remains (due to the invisible donation button), add this CSS as well (before the ending } )
body #header-widget-area { display: none; }

Great theme, thanks for this, however, I have challenges with responsiveness.
Digging down in menu, main content is appearing shrinked on landscape, and it is not appearing at all properly on portrait, especially on smaller screens. Regardless of the OS, I checked at responsinator.Any idea on the possible solution?
Thank you very much!

December 24th, 2014 at 18:24 #28815ZedCryout Creations mastermindSixbeats, please disable CSS minification in your caching plugin until the theme’s next update.
ajitomghyan, beside using Nirvana (and not Tempera), I see no issue:

JustHotGlueIt.com shows up perfectly on mobile but melindatodd.com shows nothing. Help. I have no idea how to fix this.

January 2nd, 2015 at 19:54 #28904MelindaI would sure love a response and some help. I love your theme and I don’t want to have to switch back to the old crappy one but this is really a necessity. If my readers turn their phones sideways, the site shows up. It shouldn’t be like that. Can someone PLEASE help me? Pretty please?
