Header search widget size

How can I make the header search widget smaller? I want to have a social icon widget and search widget to the right in my header. I also have my menu to the right and on the left are my logo and tagline. I could increase the header height, but it doesn’t look good. I’d like to make search box smaller if possible. I am new to wordpress, and I have created a child theme. Thanks.
