Photo's stored in Nirvana overwritten with update?

    Hello,

    I am using the Nirvana theme to build my website.
    When importing and editing pictures i noticed that a lot of versions are being saved.
    So my website’s database became bigger in mb’s quickly.

    Can i make sub-folders in the Nivana directory. For exempel: http://www.trans-bindweefselmassage.nl/wp-content/themes/nirvana/images/columns/home%20pagina/09-2015

    And than only store the pictures i want to keep. Or do they then get overwritten at the next update of the theme?

    All files in the nirvana/ folder get deleted and recreated on every update. You should not edit or add files there unless you plan to never update the theme again.

    Use a child theme for customizations and store your image files in the media gallery. Delete versions of the files that you no longer use. WordPress automatically creates multiple size versions of every image you upload and uses them where needed. Don’t delete these variants if you use at least one edition of the image.
