How to customize the "Recent posts" Widget?

    Hi there,

    Om my Dutch website I use the “Recent posts” widget. (I hope that my translation is correct!)

    I would like to use this widget twice. Once to display posts with category / tag NEWS the second should list posts from all the other categories.

    Using Nirvana Customizer > Settings > Widgets > “Recent posts widget” I should be able to customize which posts appear. However when I try to customize the widget it does not seem to work!Does anybody have any ides as to what the problem could be?

    All help and suggestions would be appreciated.

    The customizer is WordPress core functionality and not controlled by the theme.

    Everything you see there is WordPress itself, and you should ask this question on the WordPress forums. I believe you will need a different widget (provided by a plugin for example) for the functionality you want. The default one cannot do this.
