How to add blog page to menu when settings blocks this because of using template

    Hi,

On a client’s website I want the Nirvana homepage template to show up, so I get the settings to ‘show posts on homepage’. I don’t want blogs to show there, so I unchecked that in Nirvana Settings. [Weird though, that I still have to use this posts on homepage setting…]. This way I can’t use the setting ‘Show blog on page X’ (and choose the page I want).

Now I want the posts to show on another page in the menu (not activated yet). I can do that by adding a category to the menu, but then the URL becomes something like “URL/category/blog”. I want “URL/blog”.

How can I do this? So… how can I add a blog PAGE while in the same time I’m using this strange required setting for the Nirvana homepage?

    Kind regards,
    HvH

WordPress.org theme guidelines require us to make the static page option override any of the theme’s settings (like its presentation page). As a result, if you want to use WordPress’ static/blog page option to assign a different blog page then you are also forced to use a static page for the homepage.

As a workaround for this, we’ve included a “Blog Page” template which can be assigned to any page and turns it into the normal blog section.

Ah, thanks! I’ll look into that right away.
