Hi, I am trying to upload the Cryout Serious Theme Settings plugin to my site. I have Nirvana activated as my theme. I am using WordPress 4.9.4, Nirvana 1.4.4 and the plugin’s latest version, 0.5.9. I can upload the plugin successfully, but I receive the error, “This plugin does not have a valid header,” after I click Activate.
I have followed the instructions on the minimal step-by-step tutorial for debugging. I have no other plugins on my site. I have tried to upload the plugin via ftp, and install the plugin from wp-admin. I have tried to check the files to make sure there isn’t a duplicated folder, or mistakes in the beginning of the files. I am still seeing the error. What else can I try?

Also, I see that the recommended version of the plugin on the Appearance> Nirvana Plugins page is the 0.5.1 version, not the current version of the plugin, 0.5.9. I also have tried to install that version, without success.
The file you are uploading is incomplete or incorrect. Why are you uploading the plugin file anyway? It can be installed directly from WordPress.org since it’s published in the repository.
On the Nirvana Plugins page, the labeling is “Minimum required version:” which means the theme requires at least that plugin version to work, not that specific version.

I have tried to install the plugin directly from the WordPress repository, but when I do, I see the header error. I am not sure why. There may be an issue with my WordPress files. I am not sure.

I understand if I need to close this ticket, as the problem is likely not Cryout plugin or theme related.
I appreciate your help and fast response!The fact that you cannot install any plugins points that there is a problem with your WordPress installation and/or hosting server and not something broke in the plugin.
Did you perhaps run out of space on the account (resulting in failed file transfers)?
