After the update to Nirvana 1.6.1 I noticed that font settings no longer follow the General font setting. This can be demonstrated as follows: start with a brand new, default WordPress site. Install Nirvana theme and Cryout Serious Theme Settings plugin. Go to Nirvan settings, Color Schemes and select “Fresh Fresca”. Check the site, all fonts are “Ubuntu”. Now go to Nirvana settings again, and without changing anything, press Save Changes. Check the site again, some fonts are now changed to “serif”.

October 22nd, 2021 at 13:38 #122753I fixed it by explicitly setting the font for the ones with unwanted changes instead of using the default setting “general font”. In my case it was needed for “post title” and “widget font”.

I just went through the process as @rene described it and was not able to replicate the issue on our test site. The Ubuntu font set by the scheme remains the one selected in the general option and applied on the frontend.
Perhaps there’s something on the site that interferes with the settings saving process (and cause the loss of some of the options).Try making a theme settings export before and after the listed steps and check if the two exports have differences in length and content.

I did the export before and after as you requested and noticed a difference related to the problem. The initial export shows: nirvana_fonttitle:”General Font”
After the Save changes it shows: nirvana_fonttitle:”Algemeen lettertype”The same difference for many other font settings.

The Nirvana settings screens shows “Algemeen lettertype”, but the export shows “General font” even after a Save changes. -
