How do I edit homepage?

I installed the latest Nirvana theme (in this thread) and I see the theme when I go the homepage, but if I click on “pages” in the left column of the dashboard, there is no homepage to edit – why is this? How do I edit it?

Also, I tried creating another “test” page, but it loads another template which I don’t want – this is very frustrating for me.
