Removing Tab Appearance

Searching on this topic, I see that more than a few people have asked the same question with various replies that do not work – so here again is the question.

On “Pages” there is an appearance of a tab for each static page that you have created. This is directly below the Custom Header. I as others have mentioned would like to have my available pages listed in a sidebar widget similar to categories and not have the tabs strung across the top with this information. This has nothing to do with menus or the graphic presentation of the page titles. Can the tabs be removed via the Mantra settings or is it something that must be removed via coding?
