I am facing the following issue with Mantra.
When a user follows a link to a post that belongs to a 2nd level category menu item, the menu drop down list defaults on the last 1st level menu item, even though the post does not belong to that category; furthermore, if the user wishes to navigate to that category, he cannot do so directly, because the theme acts as if he is already in that category. So one is force to navigate away to another menu/category and then visit that one
To illustrate, let’s suppose these are the 1st level menu items
Home | Politics | Economy | Culture | Video
If the user visits the home page and clicks on a post that belongs to a subcategory, e.g. Politics > World, when he gets to the post view, the active menu will be “Video”. So if after visiting this post he wants to go to the “Video” Category/Menu, he cannot do so because the menu is already selected.
If the post belongs to a 1st level category/menu, then this problem does not arise.
I can confirm the mobile menu is acting a bit strange.

I’m having the same problem with the Mobile Menu defaulting to the last item in my menu list. In addition to the behavior described above, it appears that it is impossible to navigate to the defaulted menu item – even once I’ve navigated away and then selected the item again.
ThanksThe issue only appears when the currently viewed category/page is not listed in the menu. We are still working on improving the mobile menu.

Please check the available documentation and search the forums before starting a topic.As mentioned by another user, viewing site on laptop but making the browser very small activates the Mantra “mobile” view and “mobile menu”. The currently viewed category/page IS, INDEED, listed in the menu. The problem actually seems to be browser specific.
The menu refuses to navigate to the default listed item, even if you click to another page, in the following browsers: Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
The default menu item works if you navigate away and then back in the following browsers: Safari and Android Browser. Hope this helps!
Looks like your problem is a jquery problem in Firefox and IE https://github.com/jquery/jquery-mobile/issues/5829 I’m not a jquery coder, so can’t help you more than that.
More experimentation shows that the mobile menu problem in Firefox & IE (or very tiny sized regular browser window on desktop/laptop) only applies to the “Primary Navigation” menu. ‘Top Navigation’, ‘Footer Navigation’ or a ‘menu’ widget that allows the menu to be seen in a sidebar DO NOT SHOW THE SAME PROBLEM.
The ‘Primary Navigation’ menu has CSS stylings to appear ‘button-like’ All of the other menus/locations are straight html links.
Hope you get this fixed soon. I love Mantra, but I’m getting pressure to find a new theme.
I’ve been reading about issues with the WP 3.6 update and Mantra 2.0.7 but I was wondering if there was any news on this issue. Is this still a problem with the newest updates that have been released? I have about a month before the site I’m developing goes live, and while this is not a deal-breaker it is still something that needs to be resolved.
Where is the mobile settings? I’ve looked all around the theme and can’t find it.
The mobile menu should behave itself in the latest 2.0.7.x updates.
The “mobile” option is now called “responsiveness” and it’s under Layout Settings.
