Using Mantra 2.4.1.1, WP 4.3.1. This site has used Mantra prior versions.
Problem: create a new page, add media links, or enter any formatted text that has HTML links. Look in the text editor and see that the HTML tags are there (and properly closed). Publish the page. All HTML links are removed, leaving only text.
This is verifies on numerous attempts. Not a plugin problem, disabled all plugins and still have the same issue.
Changed the theme to ‘2013’, and the problem does not occur. Therefore, something in the Mantra 2.4.1.1 update has caused the problem; I did not have the problem prior to the Mantra update.
This is going to require going back to prior Mantra, since new pages/posts are required for this site. Or I am going to change to a different theme; and all the work involved in doing that on a site that is live. (Yes, I know development techniques, been using WP for years.)
Not a happy camper….

I also disabled all plugins during testing. Only when the theme was changed to ‘2013’ did the problem not occur.

When excerpts are used, all HTML content is automatically stripped by WordPress and the text is trimmed to a limited number of words.Switch to full posts (look in the Post Excerpt in theme settings)

The problem is on a ‘page’ that has links to media content. If I add another media content item to the page, all of the HREFs are deleted on Publish.
Again, this has happened with the last one (or two) updates. It was OK back in the first part of September.

October 5th, 2015 at 04:06 #33839Rick HThe problem is not on the main page (which uses full posts). The problem occurs on ‘pages’ that previously exist, or new Pages. In either case, adding media puts the HREF code as expected, but on Publish, the HREF code is removed, leaving only text (what would have been between the A tags.
This happens with existing pages (which have the full HREF as expected), or with new pages, or with existing/working pages where you add a media item. The HREF (opening and closing) tag is removed, leaving only the text that would have been the link.
If I change the theme to 2013, then create a new page, or edit an existing page, adding media links vie the Add Media button, then Publish, the HREF tag is removed. So it appears to be the theme.
This problem appears to be caused by the latest 1 or 2 updates; the problem did not occur with posts when I created them the beginning of Sept. Again, it occurs with the latest theme version, on old or new pages, once the page is published.
October 6th, 2015 at 03:26 #33854Rick HFurther testing: I found version 2.3.4 on my local system, and used that on a test site. (The test site was running 2.4.1.1, and verified that the problem occurs on that version.)
Switching the theme to version 2.3.4, then creating a new page, adding media, verifying that the HREF code was there, then publishing, and the HREF code is still there.
If I do the same process with 2.4.1.1 (latest), the HREF disappears on Publish.
I can test with versions prior to 2.4.1.1 (I think that 2.4.0 did not have the problem), but can’t find the link to version 2.4.0.
Thanks for looking into this…..it is putting a serious crimp on my site, so much so, that I may need to find a different theme; or move to a prior version (if I can find a prior version somewhere).

October 13th, 2015 at 22:42 #33930ZedCryout Creations mastermindPlease allow me to confirm that I am understanding this correctly:
Links added in the page content that point to media resources (images?) vanish from the page when saving the page; and this has started happening since version 2.4.
Is this correct? If yes, does this also happen for links pointing to some other content (like pages or external URLS)? Do you have any plugins active? If yes, which ones?
I just tested this scenario and links in my test page neither disappear nor have any issues in functioning. They are all present in the page after publish (both those linking to media content and those linking to external pages/resources).
Wordpress used to provide a link to the whole history of the version archives. Since they removed that (and I have found no way of manually accessing such list), we’re keeping an archive with all previous theme releases at http://archive.cryout.eu/?dir=mantra
