See the URL below – I would like the featured images in this part to be less of a banner – less cropped vertically. Please tell me where I can change this (or what tag for CSS?)
The height of the featured images is configurable in the theme’s options (under Post Information > Featured Image). The width is dependent on the configured site width, sidebars and posts column setting.

It’s 250×150 px with the boxed checked for cropping. However some images are not cropped correctly. The featured images at https://www.unterwegsinberlin.de/blog are different. What can I do?

Your site behaves as if the cropping option is not enabled (all thumbnails are different sizes). Was the checkbox checked when you uploaded the images to your site?
If you’ve enabled it while the image files were already present in your media library, you will need to regenerate thumbnails for the crop option to have effect.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Is there anyway to adjust the blog feature image? Or just keep it static?
My picture always auto-adjusts to basically only the bottom half of the picture and then goes upward to see the whole thing. I’ve tried cropping it and am very frustrated.
Or can you just take a look at my site and tell me what I am doing wrong.
