More explaining about Mantra(s) 1.8.9 and 1.8.9.1

After the flood of support tickets in the past week concerning bugs and “features” (more or less) in the latest two incarnations of Mantra, I’ve decided to sum up things with an explanatory post:

1.

The notorious Missing argument 2 for wp_kses(), called in /wp-content/themes/mantra/admin/mantra-sanitize.php is solved in 1.8.9.1. You can now once more save the theme options.

2.

Enabling social icons in the footer will get you a nice warning message on the website (that also makes the admin bar unusable/invisible). This is indeed a bug, present in both releases. The fix is to edit footer.php and change mantra_social_icons() to mantra_set_social_icons()

3.

There’s some hiccup concerning the siderbar-content-sidebar layout (two sidebars on both sides of the content). Do not use this option for now.

4.

There’s also a miss-alignment concerning the sub-submenu items. No fix yet.

5.

Last but the most cried about of all – the new mobile devices related css “feature”. Intended as an improvement to make the website resize and wrap itself on small screen sizes, most users saw this as a bug. As such, this will be by default set as disabled, and there will be an option to turn it on. Until 1.9.0, to remove this “feature”, edit Mantra’s style.css and delete everything starting with /* =Responsive Structure

And since without bugs we kind of leave ourselves without work, do not worry… Mantra 1.9.0 is on its way, and it’ll be packed with new features and new bugs 🙂

Mantra is a clean, highly configurable and totally free WordPress theme. For more info check out the theme's page.

  1. I love mantra and all the options!!
However, I’m having trouble with showing the “share” buttons (which I’ve titled “tell your friends”) after posts and on static pages. . . I’m thinking there must be options I’ve chosen that are conflicting. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  2. Thanks for the update. Mantra is really growing on me.
Personally, I like the Responsive Structure. It does go a bit far though. Perhaps an option to set the minimum resolution would be well received.
