@ncesareo, the CSS in my previous answer only applies to the theme’s static slider. Our slider plugin has an option (since the latest update) to control this behaviour.

We’ll add a workaround for this limitation in a future theme update. As an alternative you can switch the header image to cropped instead of contained.

Due to a technical limitation, the sample image is not visible in the customizer panel. To replace it, simply assign a different image. To remove the sample image, assign any other image in its place and then remove it.

The posts display featured images in the posts list, but not in the header because the header images used are too small (they need to be at least 75% of the site width to be used).

2. The button cannot be used elsewhere (like inside the content) because we are not allowed any functionality to accomplish this by the repository guidelines.

You could add this by either editing the function handling them or using JS to alter their behaviour.
