The style.css file at least is a complete copy (perhaps customized) of Kahuna’s own style.

The content left/right padding and top margin are all configurable in the theme’s options.
The page titles visibility is also configurable.

If you’re looking to recreate the full-width content (like the slider on the current homepage), that will not be possible with a static page as pages contents (and posts, and all other sections except the special presentation page feature) cannot extend beyond the configured content width limits.

The theme doesn’t read any other image attributes from the media library beside the image file URL. If you require additional attributes to be present on the images (for accessibility or other reasons) I suggest replacing the built-in slider with a dedicated slider plugin.

The built-in slider doesn’t play well with Jetpack’s Photon service because it fails to provide some of the necessary image file sizing information needed for calculations.

The issue is random and depends on how fast your browser/connection download the images from WordPress’ image caching servers.
