    Hi,

    The site title/tagline and banner caption are two separately configurable regions (although the homepage banner caption copies the title/tagline text on theme activation for demonstrative purposes).
    The banner caption is configurable from the theme’s dedicated landing page > slider options:
    https://www.cryoutcreations.eu/docs/themes/options/landing-page/slider/#caption

    Hi,

    I tested with Android (both Firefox and Chrome) and I am not seeing anything out of place on the indicated URL. Is the issue still present? Could you provide a screenshot with what you’re seeing (and information about the browser used)?

    Hi,

    The issue leads me to believe you are using a content builder to create the content for that particular static page. Some content builders do not check and are not aware of the theme’s additional functionality (like the various landing page sections) and apply their filters too broadly, affecting the content of these sections.
    Unfortunately, the only solution for this is to use a static page that’s not built using a builder on the landing page or not include a static page at all.

    We’ve only recently started to receive reports about such behaviour (even though we’ve seen builder used together with the landing page successfully in the past). Could you tell us which builder plugin you are using and what version?

    Hi,

    WordPress versions 5.6 and 5.7 include JS library updates which are problematic with some theme functionality. Fluida 1.8.6 addresses these issues.

    Hi,

    The page id only varies between (static) pages – if the themes use the correct WordPress built-in functionality, the the id-specific class names should be the same.
    The second identifier (which targets the specific title element) will most likely differ between themes as that’s definitely layout and theme specific.

    @Ian-ITS: the code block above is an example of how the (child) theme’s enqueueing should look.
    If you’re only applying custom styling, WordPress’ Additional CSS field (or a CSS plugin) usually suffices. If you’re customizing (replacing) theme code, then a child theme is needed (some tweaks can also be implemented using a plugin instead).

    Hi,

    Since you did not include a link to the site, I can only guess that the issue is most likely caused by a JavaScript error. You’ll want to look in the browser’s developer console for the actual error message.

    Hi,

    Tempera (and our other settings-based themes) have reached their feature and functionality maturity and we consider them complete. We are now updating them only when necessary to fix identified bugs or improve compatibility with new WordPress releases.

    We are currently working on a Tempera update to address some necessary changes to improve compatibility and fix some issues with WordPress 5.6 and 5.7.

    While security issues can never be dismissed, WordPress.org repository themes are limited in the functionality they can implement.
    On the other hand, plugins are free to implement any functionality and don’t go through the same review process before getting published to the corresponding plugins repository.

    Hi,

    After updating to Nirvana 1.5 while using a child theme you’ll also need to update the child theme’s code to use the correct newer styling enqueues.
    You can download the latest NoLink child theme version from your customer account (if you’ve requested access to the files after August 2016 – if you haven’t, you’ll need to do it now).

    Cryout Creations mastermind

    Hi,

    File handling and file links are not dependent on the theme.
    You’ll need to ensure that the files are properly uploaded to the site (to the WordPress Library or separately) and that the links you add to the content are correct.

    If the links work on your computer (where the files exist locally) but nowhere else, you may be using incorrect local (to your computer’s filesystem?) links.

    Note however that Mantra is not designed (and not really tested) to be used without a header area (either site title, logo or header image or a combination of these).

    Hi,

    Both the sidebars are considered lower priority content compared to the main content and are displayed below on the smaller mobile devices.

    If you need to display something before the content on mobile devices (since this should be something short/small) you could theoretically use the theme’s Content Before widget area for it while conditionally hiding it with CSS for desktop browsers/devices.

    The theme uses microformat markup for the content structure, but that doesn’t include the feeds.
    No output on the feed is filtered by the theme so you’ll need to handle this yourself or through the plugin that’s adding the unnecessary markup.

    Hi,

    Posts in the post lists are arrange in a grid layout using Masonry.
    Depending on their specific heights (content lengths) and the relative heights between each other, after the grid layout is applied (dynamically using JavaScript), the order may slightly change from that the posts are normally displayed in.

    If you don’t like this arrangement, you can turn off the Masonry functionality from the theme’s options:

    in reply to: 2.4 has broken my header #115264
    Zed
    Cryout Creations mastermind

    Hi,

    Any styling/layout issues you may be seeing after updating an older install to 2.4.0 are probably due to using a child theme that will require updating for some code changes.
    There should be no issues observed if you’re not using a child theme.

    Previously, Parabola was using an action hooked into the wp_head hook to enqueue all its styles.
    Version 2.4.0 changes these enqueues to the proper wp_enqueue_scripts hook.

    If your child theme still uses the previous hook, then the necessary styles (main, options-generated, mobile and child theme’s) will be loaded in the incorrect order, causing default styles to override configured and custom ones. You will need to update the code in the child theme to be similar to the example below:

    // enqueue parent theme styling
    function child_parent_styling(){
    	wp_enqueue_style( 'parabola-style', get_template_directory_uri() . '/style.css', array(), _CRYOUT_THEME_VERSION );  // restore correct parent stylesheet
    	wp_enqueue_style( 'parabola-child', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/style.css', array( 'parabola-style' ), '20210312' ); // enqueue child
    }
    add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts','child_parent_styling');

    The style identifier parabola-style should be present exactly with this name as there are secondary styles enqueued conditionally after it.

    If you are using our NoLink child theme, an updated version is available for download in the customer account.

    A test performed now does not show any display issues:

    But it does complain about some inaccessible files that are not local (and are not related to the appearance):

    If you get intermittent errors complaining about missing or inaccessible site files which otherwise work, you’ll need to get in touch with your hosting provider as they may need to look through the logs to identify the cause – could be due to some resource overload issue on the hosting server.
