@Adreas: Fluida uses 1280px as one of the responsiveness points – where it relocates the sidebars below the main content. If you are browsing the site on a device with a screen narrower than this you’ll see the sidebars below, otherwise they are on the sides.

The value and behaviour are design choices for content readability and spacing.

Mobile devices have a limited viewing space. Keeping elements fixed on the screen while scrolling would diminish this space further. It is a design choice to disable the fixed status of the topbar on smaller devices.

The update includes the changes for both the styles and the HTML code, so a force refresh (to clear the browser cache) solves any invalid icons.

Lydia, you did not correctly set up the child theme. A child theme should only contain the changes/differences from the parent theme, not the complete copied over styling (and perhaps files?).

Parabola registers a slider-specific image crop/resize size (as configured in the settings) and attempts to use the featured images generated for this image size in the slider.

Try using a thumbnail regeneration plugin to make sure your images have a slider-specific image variation (to fit in the slider).
