Plugins which choose to render custom post types themselves will always have layout issues with our themes due to differences in the layout elements plugins expect or integrate and the ones our themes use (due to their customizable nature).
To make the plugin work you’ll need to create a merge of the plugin’s themes/portfolio_details.php file (handling single items view) and our theme’s single.php and then write the code to replace the plugin’s usage of that file with the customized one.
You could of course simply edit that file but you’d have trouble the next time the plugin receives an update.

Static pages can have a different layout page template assigned to display different sidebars.

If you have sticky posts then those will be displayed as well (and not count towards the number), but the theme does not specifically target ‘sticky posts’ on the homepage posts list.

Please check the available documentation and search the forums before starting a topic.The theme has an option which can be turned on (and it probably is on your site) to automatically pick an image from the content and use it as the featured image. But due to the different ways images can be inserted into a post (resulting in them being linked to that post in the database or not), this function is not foolproof.
Assigning a featured image is the preferred method.

Adjust the landing page featured content option and set it to disabled if you don’t want to display your static homepage there.
Your site also appears to be using caching, so you may not see option changes instantly.

The opacity of the overlay is not directly configurable, but can be adjusted with CSS:

.lp-block { position: relative; display: block; float: middle; <-- overflow: hidden; background: transparent; margin-right: 4%; }However there’s no middle/center float value in CSS.
I recommend keeping the theme files unmodified and performing all customizations through the child theme.

If you have more posts than this value, then the latest 9 posts will be used as source for the boxes. There is no button to show more boxes than this number.

I can identify no problems in the widgets administration interface (either the customize interface or the dedicated Widgets settings page) with Fluida 1.3.4 and WordPress 4.8.1.
Did you check the interfaces with 4.8.1 and a Twenty theme on that exact same site?
Headings are a different matter to the widgets.

When it is enabled and displayed on the site, the slider displays the images with short captions (titles and texts) on top and allows linking to other site sections or external links.
