Hi, Zed: thanks again for your reply. I understand that a theme must adhere to WP rules. However, maybe I wasn’t clear. On two sites, I’ve been able to use the presentation page AND also have posts show up on a Blog page. But it did not work on the third website. Eventually I trashed the blog page that showed up with the Nirvana theme and trashed the blog page I’d created. A few days later I created a new blog page for the problematic site. I chose Blog template (Posts Page) in WordPress’s right margin for the template type. I don’t think that was available originally, at least not in the preloaded “news” page which came with the Nirvana theme. In any event, I resolved it that way. but it can be done: You can enable the presentation page (choose to show posts on that page or not), and you can also have a posts page in your menu. You just have to make sure to designate the type of template when you create the page.
suzer316ParticipantHi, Zed, thank you for your reply. I thought there was some secret to the Blog Page Template you’ve referred to. I DO have a Blog page set up on the site and it’s in the top menu. (allbyhim.org). I can get blogs to show up on the Blog page ONLY if I go to WP Settings: Reading and choose a static page for the front page (posts page: blog). This seems to be the only place in WordPress to choose where your blogs show up. However, I want to use Nirvana’s Presentation page as my front page. And the only way to do that is to choose “your latest posts” as my front page. If I do this, then posts disappear from the Blog Page template. Any ideas how I can use Nirvana’s Presentation page as my front page AND have my blog posts show up where they belong? Thank you
suzer316ParticipantPS: I can only get my posts to display on the blog page if I set my front page to a static page, and then I lose the presentation page. Thanks.
