FYI, I did get a reply from Kay to my Priority Support request. (I should mention it came in a day after I sent the request, I just didn’t see it.) It reads:

Thanks a lot for the info, we’re in the processing of addressing that for a future theme update.
Thanks again and have a great day!

If we can helping you further, please reply to this email or create a new ticket.

OK, so this gives me reason to hope. I have to say, the Bravada theme and Plus themes I use have been updated over the last 6 or so months.

I am guessing CC had some personnel reductions? IDK, but at least we have reasons to be optimistic, b/c like so many of you, I am not a developer. I just have my own sites, and those of clients. If I did have to switch, I couldn’t pass that cost on in a way that would truly off-set the time I would have to spend on such an enormous job.

I hear you @Steve Procter. I am at the same point. I haven’t let my subscription lapse… Yet. But unless something changes I am going to have to.

I understand there is a bunch of stuff going on behind the scenes we don’t know about, and the war in Ukraine has really done a number on them, but they are still running a business and have paying customers. IDK what they are thinking.

I did submit a priority support ticket this morning about an Input validation vulnerability in Bravada 1.1.2 that came up in my SSL software update. Wordfence isn’t showing an issue though. Strange, huh?

Oh well, let’s see what happens. I am not really wanting to switch all my sites away from from CC, but will if I have to. 🙁

Yes, like you, I have not found any other themes I am happy with. Like you, I have been their customer for years. My subscription is due at the end of this year. I am dreading that. I am still wanting to support them, but quite honestly, I don’t see how I can. I feel like I have been let loose in the middle of the ocean with a life jacket and am trying to make my way to shore. It is indeed overwhelming.

Fingers crossed for both of us Steve!…

What’s strange is that they just put out a child theme for Kahuna in the beginning of October. Like WTF? I don’t get it…

I am in a very similar boat to yourself. I am using Cryout Creations themes exclusively for both my sites, and the sites I design for others. I too am equally hooped.

Actually, to make matters a bit more difficult, I just yesterday had problems with upgrading my php, which is why I checked here to see if anyone else was having problems. I am going to need to hire a developer–since that is not in my wheelhouse.

Somedays I very much dislike tech… LOL

@Steve_Procter: Did you ever get a reply to any of your Priority Support Tickets? Or are you still waiting?

    I noticed this too.

I am using the the Plus version of Bravada, and it started happening a few months ago after I changed my screen name. Before the name change, everything was working as it should.

I can’t recall now if this was around the same time that an update for Bravada was released or not.

I have been tempted to try changing my screen name back to see if it would make a difference, but wasn’t sure if that would cause even further issues. So I thought I’d best let things be.

Glad to know I am not the only one who has noticed this. I will try and play around on my test site with settings and see if I can figure anything out.

@Brigitte: I too have sent them a message since I pay for theme & support and also have received no reply. I am starting to worry what is going on.

I did notice that Zed updated the Kahuna them on Oct 31, but there has been no reply to my question I sent in early Nov.

It sounds like the team has a lot going on.

    @deKay
: Thank you for the PHP info! I was going to upgrade the PHP on our VPS, but it sounds like I should hold off until we hear something definitive from the Cryout Creations team.

Has anyone heard anything from anyone on the Cryout Creation team at all? I too am worried.

Edit: I did notice Zed provided an update for the Kahuna them on Oct 31. That’s a good sign. Fingers crossed they are all OK.

Hi Kay. Thank you for this!

Yes, there are a lot of different types of saxophones. To be fair though, my site is one of the largest saxophone sites on the Net. Between this site, and its related blog-style site, there are about 5,000 pages of WP material. FYI, my site goes back to 2008, that’s why it is so content rich.

I ended up increasing to 10,000px and it could maybe even go higher still. Why?

Because if a person browsing the right drop down navigation menu doesn’t close the arrows for the child pages they have already opened up, even at 10,000 they could end up at over-lapping text as they continue browsing child pages further down in the menu.

On an unrelated, but still navigation issue, I updated the theme last night to the new version. I was happy to see that suddenly a navigation menu appeared in the header.

There is a small problem with this though. When an header image is present, the only option for menu position is “Over header image”. If “Normal” is chosen, child pages vanish behind the image.

However, if “Over the header image” is chosen–like I have currently chosen on my site–then some pages are covered up by the Search box and are not visible. Furthermore, the Search box is rendered unusable, because moving the curser over it, in effect hovers over the pages under it.

I just checked to confirm b/c I don’t remember changing them. On both my test & production site the featured image size in the theme is the default 201 X 318.

Oh, I should add that I had created a different test site before switched over my site to the new theme. The blurred images were a problem there as well. That site has since been removed from the server now that I’m done with it, but in total it’s 3 for 3 sites that this blurred images problem has appeared in.

Edit: on my test site I changed the image size to 500 x 318 (the 318 was not changeable), but it made no difference to the blurriness on the existing images on the presentation page. But the 2 new posts I did, had the images reduced in height (despite me increasing it from 201 to 500), but the blurriness was gone.

This of course still leaves the question, why did the theme not have an issue with dealing with my old posts and displaying my images correctly (I’m thinking of my actual production site here, that has over 2,000 posts http://bassic-sax.info/blog ) but has trouble dealing with images that are too tall–which appears to be the case.

Hi sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I had some stuff happening here.

In any event, I did install the plugin you suggest for re-generating thumbnails in my test site. http://bassic-sax.com/ Unfortunately there was no change. The old images are still clear, while the new ones I uploaded today are blurry. Regeneration did not help the situation.

Just wondering, could this be a php issue? I ask b/c I’m having an issue with an analytics plugin, and I found out my GD server is running an out-dated version of php (5.4)

I had exactly the same thing occur on my blog.

On March 23 the feature image on my presentation was still clear. When I next went to write a post, the feature image on my presentation page was blurry, as was the next one on April 2.

I am at a loss to understand how this occurred. I had not updated any image-handling plugins, nor installed any. This just suddenly happened out of the blue.

I just updated my test site, and the text shrunk on my presentation page as well. Yup, I did a force refresh.

    Any ideas?

Edit: On closer look, it seems to have gotten smaller over the entire site.
