Hi.
I just installed Yoast SEO plugin and on all my pages I can add keyword and meta description in the bottom and analyse my SEO. But I do not have this oppertunity on the presentation page. Anyone know how I add keyword and metadescription and analyse the presentation page in Tempera templet?June 4th, 2014 at 20:03 #25656WaltSEO >> Titles and Metas >> Home tab

July 1st, 2014 at 14:24 #25962MichaelHi,
In the theme settings I chose that front page displays a static page. As it is required to declare a page I created one with the name “home”. This page is empty because all the writing is done in: Tempera Settings >> PRESENTATION PAGE>> EXTRAS >> Text for the Presentation Page.
When I go to SEO >> Titles and Metas >> Home tab, whatever I set for “SEO Title” and “Meta Description” is ignored by Google. Bing and Yahoo ignore only the “SEO Title” and accept “Meta Description”.
Have you faced this issue or do you know what I should correct?July 5th, 2014 at 01:57 #26001PeterYup, that’s my experience too. So at this point it does not seem to me to be possible to optimize the Presentation Page for SEO.
Hoping someone can correct this observation with a method to apply the Yoast SEO tools to the Presentation Page so that when it is enabled as a default index page for the site it is properly optimized for better ranking with the search engines.
Otherwise I will have to forego the ease of the presentation page and continue manually building a facsimile with Shortcodes Ultimate and Meta Slider plugins. This combination doesn’t work terribly but has some chronic glitches. And I hate being so dependent on plugins as eventually there are incidences of conflict or uneven updating. Currently at least, within the Tempera Theme Meta Slider does not behave well on smaller devices such as iPhones and tablets. (I use another theme on one of my sites with Meta Slider and it adjusts fine to screen sizes) Also Tempera and when working other page that has a Meta Slider in it, one loses sight of the top row of user interface when toggled in Page Preview. That is, the links, for example to get back to the dashboard or go back to editing the page are still there but invisible.
August 1st, 2014 at 07:30 #26381Tina SanthoshThis is working fine for my site. In the Dashboard, click on edit your front page, and make the changes for the title and keyword. Once this is done, go to the presentation page and add the necessary keyword and content on the Extra text. This will work fine, i mean, it is working fine for me. So hopefully it will work for you guys too.

We’re working on implementing this for the Presentation Page but in the meanwhile the ‘WordPress SEO by Yoast’ plugin seems to be working nicely.
Before posting consider reading our short theme debugging instructions.

Before making any modifications to your theme we strongly recommend using Child Themes.August 6th, 2014 at 16:33 #26524DJHi. Yoast isn’t working for the presentation page. In fact, this site was indexed by Google wonderfully prior to replacing the original site with Word Press/Tempera theme. It seems to be almost completely eliminated from the Google index now. How do I fix this? Can I add the meta information somewhere within the presentation/home page manually?

i have the same problem, can someone help with it?October 16th, 2014 at 22:20 #27812HewSame problem. I can’t add a title to the presentation page and any SEO tags such as meta descriptions. Is there a php file that can be modified to add a Title and other meta tags in the Head?
October 16th, 2014 at 22:22 #27813HewI should have said I am using the Mantra theme.
Thanks for any help!
October 28th, 2014 at 02:35 #28002MariaAre there any updates to whether we can use this SEO tool for the Presentation Page and how to do it? Please let us know. Thanks!
November 10th, 2014 at 15:40 #28144LouiseHi – also looking for revisions or updates for SEO for the presentation page before I try another theme instead. Presentation page, and home tab only gives the option for a description and nothing else – am I missing something? I’m new to this. Thanks!

Has this topic been solved? Are there any updates from Cryout about this?
thank you

March 19th, 2015 at 18:05 #30870GrassmediaSEO on the presentation page is diabolical with no apparent way to fix it. Sure Yoast SEO will allow a description to be added but vitally all content is ignored. This makes an otherwise excellent theme pretty useless in my humble opinion!
April 16th, 2015 at 18:26 #31105Bob WilleyI am trying to analyze the same thing.
Recently updated to Tempera which my webmaster recommended,
makes a nice looking site
Have optimized Title Tagline to exactly 60 characters to optimize that. But cannot find how to add Meta Tags to optimize for SEO search.
Goggle/Bing and the other analysis tools show this as an issue for my site.Is there any other option, since the Yoast SEO does not seem to work correctly.
Thanks.
