Every time there is an update replacing the images (cake1, cake2 etc…) and the other placed in the folder disappear. I’m wrong?

Wordpress deletes the theme folder completely on every update. It then installs the updated version in place. This is the normal functionality.

This is why we recommend you do not edit/add/delete theme files, but use child themes to customize the theme.

However, you should use your own images using the theme’s settings page, not by replacing files.
