I’ve got a site I’m trying to set up the posts page to look like the Nirvana screenshot, which looks like it’s a presentation page. In this case, this is not the front page, so maybe presentation mode doesn’t work? Any good ways to get a 2 column minimal layout for the posts page like that screenshot?

The presentation page is always the homepage (if enabled in the settings). If it is not visible, make sure you did not set a static page as your homepage, as that disabled the presentation page.

I’ll have to check out the presentation mode more, as I just saw the option for not showing posts on the front page. That might actually work for this site.
One question for the two column post listings. If I put in a featured image, I’ll get a crisp clear image for, say, the category listings that include that post, but it’s only about 150 pixels tall. If I don’t put in a featured image, for some reason the preview image is about 200 pixels tall, or actually more, another is 320 pixels tall. Is there a way to make this crisp, but maybe locked to something like 300 pixels tall?

The problem with image sizes is more complicated. The image crops of various sizes (based on settings mostly) are generated on file upload. If you then decide to change settings, previously created crops are not recreated, so you’ll end up with non-matching sizes for the places they will be used in. I don’t know when your images/featured images were uploaded (before of after you installed/configured Nirvana), so this may or may not be the issue for you.
Recreating the crop/resized images is possible with additional plugins. If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.
