    In “Featured Image Settings” (NIRVANA Settings) we can specify what we want to do with the size of the thumbnail.
    Despite the fact that I have not enabled the option “Crop images to exact size” is doing it.
    Before the update was not the issue.

    Thumbnails are not automatically re-generated by WordPress. After changing any thumbnail-related settings you’ll need to regenerate them (using a plugin).
