I just applied the latest update to the tempera theme and I’ve had a message saying the the theme is broken as the template is missing. My site is now running using the default theme which it’s not really designed for. Please can you fix.

I think that the update file from WordPress is corrupted but if you download it from WP Themes Directory and copy Tempera manually, it works fine.

Hi, I have the same issue. But I can’t delete and re-install Tempera as advised (or I just can’t find where to do that). It says: “Broken Themes. The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template. Template is missing.” No delete option. Also, WP doesn’t allow me to download Tempera manually over the installed version. Help? Thanks!

Sorry, I will reformulate my question : is it worth waiting for some kind of Tempera update instead of deleting and re-installing the theme? All my data is on temporary hosting and domain because I didn’t finish working on the website yet and I am terribly scared of loosing all my customizations ((

Hi guys,

Files at WordPress.org are held on 4 different servers and once in a blue moon it happens that the theme files on one of those servers get corrupted. Since every time you click download you get the files from a different server, you sporadically download the corrupted version of the theme.

So the best solution when this happens is to download the files again (or re-install the theme from the dashboard again). This usually fixes the problem as you’re probably getting the files from a different server which has the correct theme files.

Anyway, we’ve already submitted a notice to the WordPress Theme Repository Team and they’ll rebuild the theme files on all the servers. We’ll let you know when that happens.

Hello again! Dear Dungeon Master Kay, I might be the only one asking this stupid question, but is it worth waiting for some kind of Tempera update auto-fixing the broken theme instead of deleting and re-installing the theme? There’s no delete option and the theme cannot be re-installed over the broken theme. I know about deleting method by FTP but still don’t want to use it, it will cancel all the customization… Thanks a lot for your answer!

Like some people in here I also had problems with the wordpress corrupt file. I am very disappointed that the problem has not been solved; in fact this pushed me to find a web developer and stop spending time in this…

I am by no means an expert, but after having the last update fail and it crashing our site, I downloaded the latest zip file, unzipped it to a folder and used FTP to manually upload the files to the Tempera theme folder. Everything worked flawlessly, except one page needed me to adjust a certain page template from the default.
