I’ve noticed recently that some posts containing images in the text are not displaying the image on the home page preview posts. Yet other administrators create posts the same way and their posts display the image.
I haven’t changed any of my post settings. Am I missing something? Can you tell me how I can make the images show up on the home page, please?
Thank you

The image either doesn’t show up on the Post page along with the excerpt or isn’t fully rendered. This is a recent problem.

I noticed early on when I created a post and placed an image in the text it usually appeared in the previews images on the home page. This doesn’t seem to be working anymore. But for some strange reason, when an another admin user creates posts with images they do diplay in the home page previews.
I’ve checked the other person’s posts and they’re not using the feature image setting.Weird!
August 14th, 2017 at 10:00 #51907francisPower UserI’ve just gone back to an old post and set the featured image and it’s now displaying in the home page previews. I never used this before because I found that earlier posts with images in text were being displayed automatically…
I’ll now use the featured image setting for all posts 🙂
Thanks

But due to the different ways images can be inserted into a post (resulting in them being linked to that post in the database or not), this function is not foolproof.
Assigning a featured image is the preferred method.
