My slider has a bug where it repeats the featured image from my most recent post, five times; when you click through, it’s just that image, where usually it’s the featured images from the five most recent posts. Deleting the featured image from my most recent post removes the entire slider carousel from my homepage. Adding a new and different image to my most recent posts re-creates the slider, but the new image also is the only one displayed. I’ve tried a few troubleshooting steps and nothing seems to work.

Edit: changing the slider to pull from “random posts” makes five distinct images appear, but they’re, obviously, completely random.

2nd edit: I created a new post with a featured image as an experiment, and now both most recent posts show up. It lets me cycle through the two of them continuously. Posts prior to these two posts are not picked up by the slider, as if they don’t exist. I tried deleting and re-installing my theme.
