Accessibility issues – skip to content and search icon

I noticed the skip nav link eats tab focus, making it unclear it exists. This causes some disorientation for sighted users, as the focus highlight disappears. Is that the intended behavior?

This is not the same as the WebKit issue described here, which is a browser bug outside the scope of this theme: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17450

There is a button element containing a font icon with a magnifying glass used to pull open the site search input. It does not seem to be receiving keyboard focus in WebKit, making it difficult to use via keyboard.

    Is that expected behavior?
