When looking at a page, the title of the page sits below the level of the top widget name. How can I delete some of the white space or somehow move the title of a page up so that the top of the text in the title is level with the title of the widget name?

You can reduce the top content padding with:

#content .hentry {
    padding-top: 1em;
}
