Redirect or Disable a link on desktop vs. mobile?

I don’t think this is necessarily a theme-related thing, but since Parabola is a mobile-responsive site, I am hoping maybe I can get some insight….

On my site, I have icons for contacting me, and two of them trigger actions (phone call or SMS message) on mobile devices using the simple “tel:1234567890” and “SMS:1234567890” HTML code. But on desktop, this creates error pages.

View this page on desktop and click the “phone” or “SMS” icons to see the error page. Or, check it out on your mobile device to see it work properly!

How can I remedy this? I am not very experienced with PHP or CSS, but with clear instruction I’m not afraid to dig in, either.

On Desktop, the link can either be non-functioning, or redirect to an actual page somehow. I’m fine with either solution. I’d just like to keep the slick mobile functionality, and eliminate the desktop error pages.

    Thanks for any advice!

Just like to add that I am indeed using the Parabola theme on my site…in case that matters!

    Parabola is a mobile-responsive site,

Please tell me where you get your information from. The FAQ says it’s responsive, not mobile responsive.

In my limited experience, that’s what “responsive” means; the theme adapts to mobile devices by detecting a mobile browser and displaying a mobile-friendly version of the site.
