The site I’m working on doesnt have auto-update for some reason (before my time) and when I tried (using Mantra’s “Import Mantra Theme Options” function) to re-import the theme options .txt file I made as an export backup it wont work.
Can I simply put the .txt options file somewhere back in the Mantra theme directory via ftp?
I’ve looked but I cant see one that I would be overwriting or where it should go?
If you can’t upload the settings file, then WordPress doesn’t have write permissions on its upload folder. Correct that and you should be able to import a settings export file.
The file is not stored on the server, it’s read after the upload and its content merged with the default theme settings and saved to the database.
Thank you. I found I had to make an ftp permissions change and Theme Options Import (and automatic plugin updates) now work.
However, I tried updating from Mantra 1.9.8 to 2.3.0 and the result is frightening! The current Homepage looks like an unedited base template full of empty boxes to put things in. I think the site is going to have to remain on 1.9.8 …
