Hi,

New to all this, so forgive me if this is an incredibly stupid question but have chosen Parabola as the template for my new WordPress website and downloaded the plugin to use Parabola settings. I’ve been going through the Presentation page settings and have enabled it, as well as adding a header image, logo, one image to the slider etc. I’ve saved the changes and would like to preview them before continuing but my WordPress dashboard is still not showing the ‘presentation page’ as a home page and still has the ‘About Us’ page showing. Clearly, I’m missing something obvious and would appreciate any help.

Since no ideas were forthcoming and I wanted to get on, I domated the $25 for customer supports and about 8 hours ago I did receive an email saying: ‘Check that the theme’s presentation page in the theme’s settings (under Presentation Page Settings) is set to ‘Enabled’ and also check that WordPress Settings > Reading options are set to display Latest Posts for the homepage (and not a static page).

Setting a static page there has priority over the theme’s presentation page and is displayed instead.’

I did have the Presentation Page enabled’ but hadn’t set the WordPress Reading settings to Latest post, rather than Static Page. I altered this and saved changes but sadly, it has made no difference. I did respond to the customer suport to say I’d tried this but it didn’t work and asking if they have any more ideas. I haven’t yet heard back but as it is a .eu site, they were probably getting some much needed sleep.

However, if anyone else has any good ideas, please feel welcome to offer them as I’m stuck at the moment.

Very much liked the Parabola template. Made a start but found a problem – see earlier posts. Flagged the problem up on the forum but no response, so decided to sign up for the $25 contribution to get Premium Support. Sent the query to Premium Support who suggested a possible solution which I immediately tried but sadly, it didn’t work, so I replied a few minutes after the initial email from Premium Support explaining it hadn’t resolved things and I attached screen shots showing that I’d carried out the suggestions but to no avail. Since then, a period of over 36 hours, I’ve heard nothing.

In many ways, it is good to discover early that this would be a bad choice for me as a template for my business as I can’t be going days without resolving issues. So, despite how much I liked the template and despite the modest $25 investment, I’ll be using a template from elsewhere. It seems many others are also unable to get a response which is a real shame.

Brian, I have answered your support questions and explained why the presentation page (and WordPress’ default homepage) are never displayed in the list of (static) pages.
