After completing the update for the Parabola theme my home page slider no longer displays. The image url is saved in the the settings for the sliders but it will not display live. It has always worked prior to the update.

Exact same issue – just updated Parabola to v 1.4.0 and it broke my presentation page slider.

OK – my site started working again shortly after posting my problem – I didn’t change anything so don’t know why it ‘s now working and not before?

Please do a force refresh (Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+R). This is a caching issue and it’s nothing serious.

Having the same problem and clearing the browser cache did not help. Won’t load any slides or even latest posts. It’s just constantly loading………. Using Chrome or Firefox.

Are we certain it’s a cache problem?

I have the same issue. Display worked before the update. Now, it seems to be working when I am logged in as the admin, but when I am just visiting the website, the images do not appear… Any idea?

@Steven Your site is working great now.

@Fanny you added extra text to the theme in the wrong place and that causes javascript to fail.

Please reinstall a fresh copy of the theme or remove any custom edits like this one.

My slider is down as well, And I tried both refreshing methods 🙁

I just started using the theme. I absolutely love it, however, I am having same issues as above. I enabled my presentation page and it does not show up as the home page any longer. It really sucks because I liked the original theme with the sliders. I am trying to figure out what I did that it went away? I am not knowledgable with coding, so I know i did not mess with anything there. Please help???

Steph, you have a static page as the homepage. Return to “Your latest posts” under Settings > Reading and the presentation page will reappear.

Mary, this forum is for the Parabola theme, not the Nirvana theme which you are using.

same problem here … slider don’t work since latest wordpress update.

tried it with two different browsers (safari, chrome), cleared cache, disabled and enabled slider, deleted all slider pics and selected them again.

any ideas?

margot, one of your plugins may be interfering with WordPress’ jQuery.

Cycle them off one by one and check to see when/if the slider returns to working condition.
