Does Parabola work with Woocommerce out of the box or should I create a child theme? Has anyone tried it in a production site? I’ve made a couple of tests, but I’d appreciate it if you could share your experiences… Thanks in advance!
March 28th, 2014 at 16:52 #24673JeannieThe FAQ has a child theme available for download that works with WooCommerce; have you tried that? I too am interested in how well it works as I need to add WooCommerce to a site in the next couple of weeks.
April 2nd, 2014 at 19:09 #24731Jorge AI’ve tried it and it works fine for me…
I have just one feature request: I have activated the breadcrumbs in the Parabola settings, and they work for the posts and pages, but not for the products. Can you make the breadcrumbs work also in the shop parte in future updates? That would make this theme simply perfect.
April 3rd, 2014 at 21:02 #24745Jim MI seem to see an issue with the add to cart button. On my page:
http://phoenixfearcon.com/shop/
When I click “Add to cart” the checkmark which appears lies on top of the “View cart” button. Is that something which is fixable? If so, do I need to change the theme or the plugin, and what needs to be changed?
April 16th, 2014 at 18:58 #24850JeannieJorge, did you install the regular Parabola theme first before using the child theme, or did you install the child theme initially? I am trying to figure out how to update an existing Parabola site to use WooCommerce and would be grateful to have the benefit of your experience. (If I install the child theme now, do I need to re-set everything or will it inherit all the settings from the parent theme?)
April 18th, 2014 at 12:34 #24875Jorge A.Hi, Jeannie,
I installed the original Parabola theme before installing the child theme, which inherited all the Parabola settings.
When it comes to updating the child theme, my server won’t let me uodate it from the WP admin panel, so I have to switch to the parent Parabola theme, delete the archives for the previous version of the child theme, install the new version of the child theme and activate it. It takes no more than two minutes, and the theme is worth it from my point of view.
August 17th, 2014 at 19:31 #26799SarahI’ve just been working on a workaround to solve all my Parabola-WooCommerce problems. My layout was broken, breadcrumbs and shop titles weren’t showing up, and the shop-page background was missing so all my products floated above my page background and clashed terribly.
I wrote up my fix in case it helps anybody: .
That’s just until Cryout make Parabola WooCommerce compatible…
