Hello, thank you for making this A-MAZING Fluida theme. I love it.

I have a question about the landing page.

I have set up the slider using Serious Sliders.

Underneath, I can configure my footer correctly, which is great.

In between the Slider and Footer, I want to have one box on the left that has a custom menu, and on the right I want to have a static page that viewers can click to read the whole page.

I thought that either the “featured icon block”, “featured box”, or “text area” would accomplish that goal, but I can’t seem to get it to work.

The Featured Icon Block is static text – it can’t be clicked. And, it only pulls in data from my pages. No dice.

The Featured Box can feed from a category and gets linkable text, but it only gets categories. No dice there, either.

And the Text Area fills in all text and links (which is good), but it becomes HUGE text that dwarfs everything else. .

So, I was thinking about making static pages, but again, the size becomes huge and bleeds onto the side.

I’ve been trying to figure out if there’s a way to get a widget, a custom menu, or something like that to embed in that space reserved for Featured Icon Blocks, Featured Boxes, or Text Areas. So far, it only seems to allow me to put in Pages (Featured Icon Blocks), Categories (Featured Boxes) or more Pages (Text Areas).

Oh yeah, the temporary fix I came up with was to build a widget in the “After Content” area, with the custom menu and page on the right, but that means it will be on EVERY page on my website, and I only want that feature on the landing page, so if I could figure out how to get that to work using the Landing Page settings, it would be perfect.

Hi! thanks for this beautiful theme!

i’m wondering how i can get my featured icon boxes to link to the pages that they are referring to.

I can’t seem to find the place to embed the link.

Definitely agree- am also trying to figure how to get a featured icon box to be a clickable link to the relevant page. It looks as though it should as the icon changes colour when the cursor is hovering, but there is no link. Also, if the featured boxes are animated, they don’t click through to the post (only when they are static is this possible through a “read more” button). I’d also like to be able to have a featured box as a link to a page rather than a post (or an icon box as an image rather than an icon)… Not sure if I’m missing something as I don’t do coding and the like!!

Just wondered if an administrator could reply to this? I really want to continue to use the theme which is great, but it feels like my landing page is broken without the icon boxes being clickable links and don’t want to put potential new clients off through frustration!

We’ll have to wait and see what Mr. Kay decides on this matter 🙂
My vote was for keeping the featured icon blocks as they are – intended for small bits of text (in which a link can manually be placed part of the text itself).

I had already tried to insert a link with the text, but this doesn’t transfer to the small bit of text pulled through to the landing page under the icon block…I can’t find a way to do this. I’d be perfectly happy with it if the text was link-able…

Is there any way to customize the text on the Featured Icon Blocks?
I don’t really need click on them, but if I could show other content (not from my pages on the main menu) will be great.

I’m sorry, I have another question.
I can’t remove the name of the page at the bottom of the landing page, no matter what I do always appear a ‘box’ that says ‘Inicio’ just above the footer … can you help me?

@AnnaC: switch the blocks from excerpts to full posts (in the theme’s block options) for mark-up (such as links) to be displayed.

@gabby_yanez, the blocks feature is designed to display small bits of texts (with an icon). As such, they aren’t even meant to link to anything (this functionality was added only due to requests).

@gabby_yanez: did you set your homepage to display a static page from WordPress’ reading settings? Set that back to latest posts and then you can hide the posts from the theme’s landing page options.

I’m developing a new site for our company and Fluida was my theme choice — great flexibility! I’ve got the landing page looking exactly as I’d hoped EXCEPT I used the featured boxes to link to pages. My site will have very few posts (so perhaps Fluida was not a great choice?) I’m committed to making it work but need to change the permalink on each post to link directly to a page. I’ve considered other options but they all seem too cloodgy. Don’t want to break a nice clean theme. Much appreciated! Will send a link to the site when it goes live.

Changing the boxes’ links is not currently possible with existing theme functionality.
It can be done but will require adding custom post meta support and handling.
