Menu-bullets distort placement of icons

    I have a problem with trying to use menu-icons and when they are activated they display on top of the menu-item with both the menu item and the icon itself preceded by a bullet.. Is there any way to disable the menu-bullets (the dots that appear to the left of the menu-items)?
