First off, thanks for this great theme with a sense of humor. I’m sorry, but I had to push the triangle accents button. I hope nothing imploded…
Parabola is nearly perfect for my needs but I do have a few issues.

1) Is there any way via plugins/coding/templates/anything to force enable “magazine layout” on the presentation page while having it disabled for the rest of the site? I know one could chose different layouts for Pages such as “Two Columns, Sidebar on the Right”, but I would also like post excerpts under Category pages to look similar. (not magazine)

I’ve looked through the faq and forum for a solution to this problem and saw it mentioned a few times but no real answer. The faq seems to indicate that it just isn’t possible but is there really no way to get around this problem? I’ve been trying to find the code that controls this to no avail.

Also,
2) Is there a way to remove the empty space between the slider and columns on the presentation page? It is the area where captions appear when using “custom slides” but I left the title and text areas blank because I didn’t want any captions but there is still an awkward blank space there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Nancy,
I can only help you on your 2nd question as I did face the same situation.
Please go to parabola settings/presentation page and then you can adjust the height of the slider. Mine worked for 250 after a few trials (based on the image height I guess).
