I have been in the past using a few plugins that were helpful to me. Among them the WYSIWYG Widget Content.
OR allow for more custom wiedgets to be created and allow for those to be placed in the page content.

Repository themes are not allowed to provide widgets or any other plugin functionality.
That does not prevent you from using shortcodes provided by WordPress itself or plugins in the contents.
