Hi
I have Nirvana and using the presentation page as the home page. I have set up another page for my blog and I want to put an image between the main menu bar and the first blog post. I have tried inserting an image in the same way as I have done successfully on other pages such as about and contact etc, but it doesn’t work, it shows when editing the page but doesn’t show when visiting the the page.
Can anyone help me with this, I would be very grateful.

WordPress replaces the static page you’re setting as “Blog” with the posts list entirely. Nothing from its properties (title, content) is used.

Thanks for your reply. I understand that wordpress is using the page for posts and nothing from the pages properties is used.

That is what I am asking about, is there some way to get wordpress to put an image between the menu and the first post.

I have looked at the source code for the blog page and an other page and identified the bit of code that inserts the image. If I knew where the posts page is hidden I could insert the same line of code and it would then show the image.

Is there any way to do this?

When the ‘blog’ option is used, the template file normally handling templates is not even used (index.php is used instead, which is also used for other sections).

The theme has a “Before Content” widget area between the menu and main content area. You could place some kind of widget in it (and further control its visibility with plugins if you only want it visible on certain site sections).
