On my “About Amanda” page, there’s an area called Sidebar 1 that has default text in it, but I can’t figure out where it is within the menus to delete/change it. Help please?

Appearance > Widgets is where you’ll find all the widget areas, including the sidebars.

If you see the default placeholder text (Your sidebar is empty. You can add widgets into this area…) this cannot be removed. It will automatically disappear when you do add widgets to that sidebar or you can disable the sidebar entirely by switching to a different layout or page template.
