Hi, I’m new to Mantra and I really like all the customization options. But I’m seeing a dash before my site title in the browser tabs and so forth, when I’m on the index page (the Home tab). It currently looks like this:
– Jennifer Lynne Flint
or sometimes just:
–
I don’t like the way this looks and would like to change it, but amending the HTML in the actual index file didn’t work, so I assume the theme is overriding it. I found the following on the subject in your FAQs:
a) You can set the site header to use an image in Appearance > Header. Then hide the site title and description text from Mantra Settings > Graphics, the Title and Description option.
If you’re using a (partly) transparent header image, it might be a good idea to disable the header background colour as well – Mantra Settings > Colors, leave the Header (Banner and Menu) Background Color field empty.b) The right way is to use the option to hide the title and description instead of blanking them in WordPress settings, as you’ll be left with a functional site title in the browser window and footer of the website (instead of a stray dash “-“). The option can be found under Mantra Settings > Graphics, Title and Description – show/hide.
I’ve bolded the option you suggested to hide, but in my Graphics settings, it doesn’t exist. I see Page Titles and Category Page Titles, but no Title and Description setting. And hiding the others did not change this issue. Am I using a different version or something? I just downloaded it this weekend, though.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks very much! 🙂

I’ve updated the FAQ entry to reflect this change.
You need to add content to your Site Title and Tagline in Settings > General (to avoid the lonely dash in the title) and then you can hide them from the header (if you wish to do so) via the new “Site Title” combined option.
