Footer Image Widgets appear horizontally?

    I have to inset 6 image widgets in one of the footer areas (sponsor logos that are clickable to their sites)- is it possible to have these appear horizontally across the bottom of the site? When I tried to adding more than one, they stacked vertically.
    Please help!
    Also- does anyone know the gray color web code for the background of the footer area?
    Thank you!
