We are aware of this problem. A typo that sneaked into 1.7.1 is preventing the featured image from appearing next to the excerpt in all post sections (homepage, categories, archives).
We have already submitted and attempted to publish an update for this issue one day after 1.7.1, unfortunately the official WordPress themes repository encountered some critical errors the same day and publication failed.
At the time of writing this message the repository is still non-functional so we cannot publish the existing update (or a new one). The people at WordPress.org are working on the issue, but they have no timeframe for when the system will become functional. If you are comfortable with manual theme installs, you can delete your existing local Parabola and manually install the unpublished 1.7.2 update after downloading it from:
https://downloads.wordpress.org/theme/parabola.1.7.2.zip
Theme settings will be retained (but you can always create a settings export just to be safe).PS: The problem affects all theme uploads, not just our themes.
