I am using the Nirvana theme and the featured image is showing a smaller size. I set the size in the Nirvana settings, but noting seems to change the actual size of the image shown.

I have tried to force the regeneration of thumbnails, I tried removing the images and re-uploading them, but nothing seems to work to change the image size.

Which posts list are we talking about? Is it the “New additions” list? As that appears to be generated by a plugin and not the default theme posts list.

On the home page. There is a featured image just below the navigation.

That image is placed inside the page content and is displayed at the size it is set to be displayed it.

If you want it larger, edit its instance in the page and chose a larger inclusion size.
