Our blog is set to publish posts as excerpts. However, when a post is emailed in it publishes the article in full. When you ‘edit’ the post you can see it has the Format option of ‘Standard’ ticked but there are two ‘Standard’ radio tabs showing, the original one at the top of the Format list and a new one at the end (this is the one added & selected). By deselecting this one and selecting the upper version the post suddenly works as intended.
Is this a bug or have we made an incorrect setting?

Are you getting another control separate to this to set the post format?

At the bottom of that list is a second ‘Standard’ radio tab that appears on emailed posts. I can edit the post and deselect this new ‘standard’ option and selection the top, original one and the post then displays correctly as an excerpt.
November 3rd, 2017 at 14:44 #55575ZedCryout Creations mastermindThat’s not part of WordPress so a plugin (or custom code) could be adding it. To make sure things work as expected, use the first “Standard” selector in the list.

For all other types of post it does not exist and we aren’t running any custom code on the site. It’s only posts that come in from Postie which creates this new and undesired ‘Standard’ and selects it. We have to manually edit each Postie post to deselect this and select the correct one. What we cannot work out is why each Postie post is creating this additional ‘standard’ selector and opting to use it to post under?
November 8th, 2017 at 19:29 #55736ZedCryout Creations mastermindTry to disable all your active plugins and see if this additional selector disappears. Then re-enable the plugins one at a time and re-check to figure out which one is adding it.
