Had an unpleasant surprise this morning. WordPress updated to version 6, and now the customizer for my Bravada theme doesn´t work anymore.

Tried everything I could find getting the customizer back (empty browser cache, disable all plugins, restarted my server, tried using WordPress maintenance mode), but still a no go.

I only get the “There Has Been a Critical Error on Your Website, check your e-mail”, but no e-mail. Mail can be send from the server I checked.

I also saw that every other theme had to be updated for WordPress 6. So is there an update coming for Bravada?

Website and theme is working in the front end. Nothing wrong there as far as I can see.

Hi, after the WordPress update 6.6, I have the same problem with Bravada Theme this morning and I don’t know how to solve it. I tried to unistall all plugins but I still can’t access the customize panel.

Same issue here 🙁 I’m not sure if the fault is new WP version or last bravada update 1.0.7. IT could be interesting downgrade to 1.0.6 to check… Meanwhile… my last WP proyect is broken! Any idea? thanks!

Glad to hear I’m not the only one with this problem. Always afraid something goes wrong with my server config and I’m not really a well versed server admin …

Hope this will be resolved (very) soon. I use the image color overlay a fair amount, and that is also broken for me anyway, I can place posts, but not in the way I want at the moment.

My problem description is:

Bravada: This theme failed to load properly and was paused within the admin backend.

I have reinstalled Bravada 1.0.7, but same error again. 🙁 I’d like to get previous version but… how? thanks!

I have just downgrade to 1.0.6.1 and 1.0.6 = same result: fatal error. So i assume is something related new wordpress version. Keep on trying waiting for Cryout response. 🙂

I tried reinstalling also. Didn’t help here either.

I tested a few other theme’s they all seem to work with the customizer (but they do have other settings and customization). The ones I tried had updates available right after WordPress updated this morning.

My lesson learned, WordPress automatic update is not something I really want, I always wait to update anything. I had automatic updates disabled on my plugins and theme, but not WordPress itself, didn’t even thought about that. I’m used getting a notification that an update is available on other software I use, not used to auto update things, especially a server.

Dumb mistake on my part …

I’ve been thinking of buying this theme, because i love it in the basic version that i’m using with my new project! I’m hoping the developers are already working on this issue.

More info: I’m using a Child theme, created from Bravada Theme V1.0.6 using plugin ‘Child Theme Configurator’, the only way i found to get a usable child theme for Bravada.
Do you use a child theme too? Which one?

Thank you for pointing this issue out. We’ve tracked it down and already published an update to correct it.

If you’re using any of our other themes, they’re also affected by this and we’ll be releasing updates for them as soon as possible.

A workaround in the meantime is to ensure that there are no empty post categories on the site.

Customizer is still not working for me. Some of the customizer menus like Menus, Miscellaneous the text overlaps the original menu and is unreadable. The other customizer options slide in but the original customizer choices do not slide away or hide.

I’m using the Bravada theme and I had a Child theme for Bravada also not working but was working before the latest update. I have tried turning off plugins but that doesn’t correct the issue. I’m running WP 6.0.1 but the pho is older 7.3- could the pho version be the problem?

WordPress 6.0.1 undid/corrected the change that cause the customize screen issue on sites with empty post categories.
If you’re running 6.0.1 your site should no longer manifest this issue regardless of the theme and theme version used.

This is now fixed, not sure if due to intervention or if it just needed a few hours to compute the new settings?
