I’m working on a dev version of a site, and have made various changes with the site. I’m not sure when or how it happened, but there’s a brown bar that used to be below the menu (http://constantinosmarket.com/) that has somehow disappeared in my dev (http://constantinosmarket.com/devsite/). I can’t even find where the bar is in the code (in either site) to even begin to troubleshoot. Can anyone provide any guidance regarding what happened? I think I see it for a split second when the page loads, but it disappears. What to do?!?

September 27th, 2017 at 21:40 #54445OK, so I figured out that it’s part of the top bar (which I needed to hide). How do I eliminate the top bar, but not the brown stripe?

October 2nd, 2017 at 20:58 #54567I can’t find reference to the image you mentioned, or I’d shorten it so that the brown shows through. Please point me in a direction. The budget on this project is tight and I can’t spend hours digging through theme code trying to find what’s going on.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The header image was set through WordPress’ header image options. The header height is directly configurable in the theme’s options. The two just need to match in value.

It would be an easy fix, but there was no header image applied. I even tried applying one that was shorter so that the color would show through as expected and no go. I was not involved in the initial setup of this site, so I can’t say what was done initially. If I turn the top bar back on, then the brown bar reappears as it was before.
However, your suggestion did lead me to a solution. Why fight to show something under the header when I can just use the image to accomplish the same thing? So I saved a header image with the bar at the bottom. Thanks for your help, even if it wasn’t what you suggested, it led to a solution and that’s all that matters. 🙂
October 10th, 2017 at 16:13 #54733Poop. Thought it was a solution. This doesn’t go the full width of the site beyond the constraints of the page size. now what?
October 10th, 2017 at 16:17 #54734Not only does it not go the full width, it behaves oddly at smaller screen sizes. Definitely not an option.
