On the blog page (page containing the boxes for individual articles) I want to either place a default image in the title area, or remove that area entirely

(see this example on my live site)

I have attached a featured image to the page in question, it is not using it for the background image of the title area. is there someway to apply that, or to hide that area entirely?

Hi,

The homepage and blog page are special sections to WordPress and their (static) pages’ attributes (like featured image, meta attributes and other parameters beside title) are ignored and not used when the pages are assigned to those sections.
